SKILLS DEVELOPED IN THE AFRICAN SAFARI
The African Safari set provides little hands with a variety of textures including prickly grass, soft maize meal, smooth rocks, a rubbery crocodile, hard animals, etc.; thus, enhancing their tactile sense.
Children create their own adventures using the animals and props provided.
Growing minds are presented with important concepts like nature conservation, vegetation management, sustainable water sources, habitats and more.
The African Safari Set expands children’s vocabulary by introducing them to animal names, words to describe their behaviour, food preference, body parts, male or female, what their young is called, etc. during play.
Developing Fine-motor skills involves strengthening hand muscles to support writing at a later stage. This set includes various opportunities to fine-tune this skill by assembling the tree, manipulating the scoop provided, stamping animal footprints in the sand, or rearranging the bushes.
The maize meal is vanilla flavoured and stimulates the sense of smell during play. Introducing children to a variety of smells improves tolerance to new smells and has an impact on their willingness to try new food. Awareness of familiar smells around children contributes to their sense of security.
Children are encouraged to sort the various animals into groups according to diet, habitat, or physical appearance. Sorting with ease is necessary when solving mathematical equations later in life.
