SKILLS DEVELOPED IN THE CONSTRUCTION SET:

TACTILE SENSE picking up, moving and exploring the pebbles and legumes found in the set exposes little hands to different textures, sizes, weights and shapes.

BILATERAL INTEGRATION by using both hands to play in the tray, children are learning to integrate sensations from both sides of their bodies.

FINE-MOTOR SKILLS picking up pebbles or legumes using their pincer grip, pushing trucks around, stacking the bricks one on top of the other, using the spade to push pebbles around, or picking up handfuls of pebbles or legumes all strengthen muscles in the hands that are essential for writing as children grow older.

MIDLINE CROSSING a child’s ability to cross over from the left to right side of their bodies greatly affects reading and writing skills later.
